Few trees survive after transplant, HC told

Municipal commissioner Praveen Pardeshi told an HC-appointed panel the on Thursday that the success rate of tree transplantation is low and it’s better to recognize “this truth”. He said Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL) should do fewer transplantations and plant thrice as many fresh trees as those removed for the Metro project.
