Showdown at Aarey as tree-axing begins

A few hours after the Bombay high court upheld the Tree Authority approval to axe over 2,185 trees in Aarey Milk Colony for the Metro 3 car shed on Friday, the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) got down to the job. As green activists got wind of it, protesters started arriving at the site.
