Karnataka slashes traffic penalties by 50%-80%

Bowing to pressure from some party leaders and general public, the BJP government in Karnataka on Saturday notified revised fines on select traffic offences. Some have been reduced by 50%-80%, but penalties for drunken driving and racing remain unchanged.
