Public sector banks are sending out employees and banking correspondents to distribute cash to customers on the ground in areas where extensive flooding and power cuts have destroyed ATM networks in rain-affected districts in Karnataka. Using micro-ATMs, banks have begun handing out between Rs 1,000-2,000 to customers/ flood victims at relief centres.
