One out of four hospital beds in the city was occupied by fever patients in July, pointing to the deluge of viral and respiratory ailments that incessant rain brought in. Civic records showed that nearly 9,000 people were hospitalised in public and private sector hospitals due to fever in July. The number doubled from 4,234 in June. City doctors said that OPDs and clinics too were flooded with cases of viral fever.
