26% of Bandra plot for theatre, rest for hotel

The Rang Sharda plot in Bandra Reclamation was to be developed into a hub of Marathi theatre and cultural activities, according to the original agreement under which the land was leased. While the agreement did provide for an administrative office and facilities for stage productions, including accommodation for visiting artistes, it did not allow out-and-out commercial activity, let alone a hotel.
