'Water quality is good in 18 of 45 B'luru lakes'

Contrary to the perception that lakes across the city are cesspools, a study by CSIR-National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (Neeri) has certified that water quality in 18 (40%) of the 45 lakes it examined is “good”, implying it can be used for domestic and irrigation purposes. However, it’s not fit for drinking.
