'Prospective groom' cheats K'taka techie of Rs 24L

A woman techie, who fell prey to the false promises of a man, who befriended her via a matrimonial portal and feigned to be a prospective bridegroom, was cheated of Rs 24 lakh. He siphoned off the money through 14 instalments, citing various reasons like starting a business and purchasing their future home. The accused, a married man, is now absconding.
