As the death toll in Dongri’s Kesarbai building collapse rose to 13, furious corporators cutting across party lines lambasted the civic administration on Wednesday for failing to act against illegal constructions. But municipal commissioner Praveen Pardeshi defended his officials and said the administration has records showing that the ill-fated structure was in existence since 1994 and was being assessed for property tax.
