Man held for duping woman he met on marriage site

Marine Drive police arrested a 43-year-old Pedder Road resident within 24 hours after he conned a woman he had befriended through a marriage portal of two phones. After few dates he led her to believe that it was his father’s birthday and convinced her to get a new phone to a five-star hotel, and under the pretext of talking to his dad, fled with her mobile and the new one.
