Mastermind of Rs 129cr gold smuggling ring held

The mastermind of one of the biggest gold smuggling rackets was nabbed after he landed from Dubai on Tuesday. Manoj Deepak Gupta (47), an NRI who had smuggled around 450kg of gold, valued at Rs 129 crore, in the last few years, had landed at Bengaluru airport to avoid Directorate Revenue of Intelligence (DRI), unaware that there was a lookout notice for him.
