Mumbai remains cool as day temperatures drop

City residents were taken by surprise on Friday as the winter chill continued to stay put all through the day. Even in the afternoon despite the sun, the cool and strong winds ensured that the weather remained pleasant. In a first in a decade the maximum temperatures recorded for the month of February on Friday dropped as low as 24.2 degrees Celsius which was almost seven degrees below normal. The lowest recorded maximum temperatures in the last 10 years was of 26.3 degrees which was recorded on February 16, 2014.
