BEST fails to pay Rs 500cr tax, 3 a/cs attached

The city collector’s office has attached three bank accounts of cash-strapped BEST Undertaking as it failed to pay Rs 500 crore as taxes to the government for five years. BEST collects 15 paise per ticket towards a nutritional charge and passenger tax, which has to be credited to the state government.
