Fresh face-off between K'taka, TN over Mekedatu

Prompted by excess rain in the Cauvery basin this year, Karnataka has revived its efforts to build a balancing reservoir across the river at Mekedatu. The government last week sent a feasibility report to the Central Water Commission but the TN government has written to the PM, seeking his intervention to stop the project.
